Desde el punto de vista del arte chino, el color negro signifca belleza y hermosura. Sea éste usado en un paisaje a blanco y negro, en el estudio de una flor, o en una caligrafía, el negro refuerza la contemplación natural del arte. El negro le permite al obervador pensar clara y profundamente, atrapándolo y cautivándolo dentro de la pintura.
